WHO WE ARE

The Gold Coast Youth Employment Body (GCYEB) Is the leading voice and innovator for youth employment on the Gold Coast for young people aged 15-25 years old. We exist to harness the community effort to improve young people’s opportunities to achieve meaningful employment while also supporting business and industry needs.

We collaborate, co-design and test solutions that address youth unemployment to support young people into secure, meaningful employment now and into the future.

Our membership includes key stakeholders from business and industry, youth employment services, community groups, skills and training providers, peak bodies, local council and government. Crucial to membership is young people themselves, elevating their voices and developing leadership so that experiences shape solutions.

The GCYEB is enabled and coordinated by the local youth specialist organisation Gen Z Employment.

Being part of a collective body that co-develops strategies to address some of the barriers that prevent young people securing decent work is important. Orygen can contribute their expertise in youth Mental Health and vocational recovery and ensure that mental health is an important consideration for both young people and employers in these conversations.

The GCYEB have the knowledge and expertise required to support employers seeking to engage young people into their workforce. This compliments the work we do in seeking outcomes for young people, employers/businesses and the community. Having the GCYEB means we have the 'right people in the room' when it comes to creating opportunities and solutions to developing the Youth workforce. It supports the work that we do, recognising that Youth Employment requires a number of different stakeholders with knowledge, expertise and resources.
