The Youth Opportunity Compass (the Compass) is an online dashboard for youth- specific data used to design evidence-informed youth employment initiatives. Contributed to by the local community, it includes data to identify structural barriers, labour market needs and opportunities, and key demographic information. The compass has been co-design with GCYEB members.
The Compass is a National Youth Employment Body initiative which seeks to address challenges faced by local stakeholders in accessing meaningful data on barriers to youth employment. The Compass aims to make it easier for community stakeholders to access and use data to drive responses to youth unemployment in their local area by: sourcing local data on youth employment; bringing data together from multiple websites; and addressing barriers to data access such as registration or data literacy.
The GCYEB offers youth-focused training for supervisors and managers to enhance their understanding of mental health practices in the workplace.
